InstaSpot feature on GVB’s Shop Guam app offers amazing perks and benefits

(Tumon, Guam) —The Guam Visitors Bureau (GVB) continues to grow the #instaSpot feature on its free Shop Guam app, which offers incredible deals and sightseeing tips to locals and tourists alike.

The #instaSpot campaign was launched in February and focuses on user-generated content while promoting local artwork and attractions around the island. The app feature provides maps to participating vendors, as well as scenic and cultural sites featuring public art. Many of the 67 #instaSpot locations offer a discount to app users.

“Whether you’re visiting Guam for a fun-filled weekend or have lived here all your life, we’re confident the #instaSpot feature on the Shop Guam app will provide you with great ideas on how to enjoy Guam while receiving discounts at your favorite shops and restaurants,” says GVB President and CEO Pilar Laguaña. “The app is a great way to buy local while enjoying and supporting the work of our vibrant local and visiting artists, and then sharing that experience on social media.”

GVB partnered with local businesses that feature unique interior or exterior decorations, including murals and wall art, to be identified as “instaSpots”. The program encourages customers of participating businesses to take a photo of the designated instaSpot art and post their content on their personal social media platforms by tagging the business and hashtagging #instaGuam. Upon posting, the customers are eligible to receive a special offer provided by the participating local business. The special offer from the business must be valid, managed, and honored through September 30, 2019.
