Pia Mia headlines GVB signature event at world famous Ypao Beach
(Tumon, Guam) The Guam Visitors Bureau (GVB) and Lotte Duty Free announced today that the 3rd annual Guam Live International Music Festival is set for Sunday, May 29, 2016 at Governor Joseph Flores Memorial (Ypao Beach) Park in Tumon. Keeping in tune with the Festival of Pacific Arts (FestPac), this single day music festival will highlight top musicians from around the Pacific, as well as hit makers from around the world.
“This year’s Guam Live lineup compliments the Festival of Pacific Arts,” said GVB General Manager Nathan Denight. “We are bringing together some of the best artists of the Pacific. This GVB signature event generates added value to our community as we are celebrating the diverse cultures and stories of the Pacific region. We are excited to welcome our performers and invite everyone to be a part of this international musical experience.”
Headlining the festival is Guam’s very own Pia Mia, making her triumphant return back to the Guam Live stage after her viral hit, “Do It Again” featuring Chris Brown and Tyga soared to the top of the charts. She also is featured in will.i.am’s newest track “Boys & Girls” and is named Fashion Director for Madonna’s “Material Girl” clothing line.
Island music sensation Common Kings will also return to the Guam Live stage with hits from their newest album and popular tracks such as “Alcoholic,” “Wade in Your Water” and “No Other Love.” Bermuda dancehall singer Collie Buddz will also perform his songs at Guam Live, including hit single “Come Around.” Legendary musicians Mana'o Company, best known for hits such as “Drop Baby Drop” and “96 Degrees in the Shade,” will take the stage again after being featured at last year’s Guam Micronesia Island Fair. Another legendary island reggae artist, Fiji, will perform his classic hits such as “Morning Ride” and “She’s Da Bomb,” while reggae band Kolohe Kai and Reggae artist Micah G will add their talent to the lineup of star-studded reggae acts.
Korea’s multi-platinum artist Jay Park also returns after dropping his latest album, “Worldwide.” Rising progressive rock reggae band, The John Dank Show, will also complete the Guam Live lineup with hits from their self-titled debut EP and forthcoming album.
Tickets are available at all 76 Circle K locations, MWR, Andersen ITT, Guam AutoSpot, and online at www.guam-live.com. Tickets are $50 in advance and $60 at the door. Held on Sunday, May 29, 2016, when all FestPac delegates have a day off from festivities, Guam Live’s gates will open at 2:00 p.m. for all attendees.
